I try so hard to keep up with this, but life just always seems to get chaotic the moment I think things have slowed down!
At the end of August, we took a mini family vaca to Frankenmuth for a weekend of fun and the Day out with Thomas event. Lewis was practically beaming with excitement the entire time we were at the Thomas event. I have never seen him more happier, and it made me weepy to know he was just so over filled with joy. His favorite part was probably meeting Sir Topham Hat, he was in complete awe and was star struck! It was sooooo cute! He thought he was such a big boy that he got to sleep in a double bed all by himself! He also loved swimming, we visited a petting farm where he was in love with the chickens, and the cheese mouse is always a big hit!
On Labor Day weekend Lewis went to his first carnival. He won a fish all on his own, and was SO PROUD of himself! He named the fish Diesel. Sadly Diesel only made it a few weeks, and actually got flushed a few days ago. He went on his first ride, and his smile couldn't of been bigger!
On September 6th, Lewis had his first day of preschool! He has only cried once at drop off, and well lets not talk about how many times I had to wipe away a few tears. He loves his teachers, and he is doing fantastic! His favorite friend is a little boy named Dominick, I think they both have a love for cars! The honeymoon stage is definitely over, and some of his behavior issues are starting to emerge. However, everyone is on board with guiding him to the best he possibly can be. Lunch has been a bit challenging, mostly on my part. I had a hard time getting with the groove of having to pack a lunch, figuring out how to transfer the milk to school, and finding a lunch box. He is doing great though, and today even took a few licks of the bananas in his lunch. We already see an improvement in his communication skills, and it is so fun to listen to him talk about his class. His teacher says his favorite thing to do every morning is run up to his family pictures on the wall, and says good morning to everyone in the pictures. LOL Adorable! Tomorrow is his first field trip to the Apple Orchard, and it should be a blast.
I always like to save the best news for last! :0) We got the much anticipated letter in the mail from the Feeding Clinic in Grand Rapids, and we are starting the program on October 25th. We couldn't be more thrilled! It has been a bit of a rush to fit in appointments and to get everything through to the insurance companies, but we are all beyond excited. I have about every emotion running through my body, but we having amazing support from our friends and family. Let the food party begin!
